Frequently asked questions

Before we
get on the water.

A few practical answers to help you prepare your dredging enquiry.

Where do you work?

Catfish is based in Townsville and generally mobilises along Australia’s east coast. Send us your project location so we can discuss access and mobilisation.

Do you offer equipment hire and operated dredging?

We welcome enquiries for equipment-only hire and full dredging services. Discuss operator arrangements, commissioning and any training requirements with the team when planning the job.

What types of dredgers do you use?

The range includes onboard-operated and shore-controlled dredgers, as well as the manually positioned SiltCat microdredger. The right equipment depends on the site and material.

What materials can be dredged?

Applications include silt, sludge, biosolids and sands. Material properties affect equipment selection and performance, so include any sampling results or known characteristics in your enquiry.

Can you work in a lined pond?

Liner protection must be considered when selecting and configuring the dredger. The existing range includes options such as protection wheels and skids. Tell us about the liner so the approach can be assessed for your site.

How far can you pump?

Pumping distance depends on the dredger, material, pipeline and elevation changes. A booster pump may be needed. Send the proposed discharge distance and route so we can assess the arrangement.

What information do you need for a quote?

Please provide the location, site plan if available, target depth, material type and estimated quantity, access details, pumping distance and the proposed spoil-management area. Include preferred timing and any operator or accommodation requirements you already know.

Can I send site plans or photographs?

Yes. Email plans, photographs and supporting information to info@dredgingservices.com.au. The enquiry form is a useful starting point; supporting files can follow by email.

Where can I find brochures and project examples?

Visit Resources for equipment brochures and project PDFs, or Projects to browse the case-study library. Confirm current equipment specifications with us before relying on historical documents.
